Mission Details

Recruitable Character: Vad

During the mission, Vad is the leader of an enemy unit. If you complete the mission without killing Vad and if you have completed Scene 14: Audvera Heights before Mount Ithaca, he will offer to join your battalion at the end of the mission. Select option number 1 (“Your help will be valuable.”) to add Vad the Grappler to your battalion.

The best strategy to keep Vad alive is to avoid fighting Vad’s unit at all.

At the beginning of the mission, do not send any units along the road to the east toward the stronghold of Nakima.

  • If you follow these instructions and do not send any units east, Vad will march to Nakima, stop there, and not move unless you approach.
  • If you do send a unit east at the beginning of the mission, Vad will march directly to Cybillgin, the Allied Headquarters, and attack.

If you initiate a battle against Vad’s unit, change your battle strategy to Attack Strongest to reduce the risk of killing Vad. After a single battle, Vad’s unit usually stays still and does not move anymore unless you approach it.

Recruitable Character: Saradin

At the end of the mission, you will meet with Hugo, Destin, and Saradin. If you responded “I can’t do it.” at the end of Scene 6: Volmus Mine, Saradin will offer to join your battalion. Choose option number 1 (“We welcome you.”) to add Saradin the Warlock to your battalion.

Saradin is the second of the five Zenobians that can join your battalion. If he offers to join, you cannot recruit Biske or Carth, even if you decline his offer.
